COSETTA PONTE (Violin) Born in Ivrea – Italy, started playing violin at the age of five at the National Suzuki Talent Center in Turin.Achieved the maturity diplom in scientific studies and attended for two years the Psycology faculty at Turin University.

 

In 1998 completed her violin studies achieving the diploma at Turin Music Conservatory “G. Verdi” with Prof. Cristine Anderson.Followed Pavel Vernikov masterclasses in Portogruaro (Venice) for three years. In 1998/1999 took part in the Orchestra Academy of “Teatro alla Scala” in Milan, working with famous conductors and soloists. Attended Prof. Dora Schwarzberg lessons at Academy of music “Romanini” in Brescia.

 

In 2001 won the first prize in the International Competition “ J. Brahms” in Alessandria. After an audition obtained a three years Scholarship from Associazione per la Musica “De Sono” of Turin, which allowed her to attend the three years Konzertklasse of Prof. R. Koelman in the Hochschule Musik und Theater of Zürich und Winterthur achieving the Konzertdiplom for violin.

 

Improved her studies in baroque violin and won the Kivanis prize in Zurich with a chamber ensamble. Cooperates with several old music ensambles like “ Scintilla” Orchestra, of Opernhaus in Zürich. Studied and plays also viola.

 

Actively cooperates also with Symphonic and Opera orchestras such as: RAI – Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale, Haydn Symphony Orchestra – Bolzano, Archi della Scala – Milano, Teatro Regio Orchestra -Torino, Teatro Regio - Parma, Milano Classica Chamber Orchestra, Orchestre Symphonique de Jura – Switzerland, Zürcher Kammerorchester. Played in several concerts as leader of second violins in Milano Classica Orchestra and in Orchestre Symphonique du Jura – Switzerland. Collaborates since February 2008 as replacement at the Sinfonieorchester Basel.
